Came across new website which is part of new trend for 311 websites and mapped based local report a fault sites. Where citizens can like broken street lights, potholes dumping etc..
www.seeclickfix.com is similar to fixmystreet.com A number of theses sites have been set up to work with US cities and the UK but this is first one I’ve seen that works anywhere. I’ve added in Fingal and Howth Malahide watch areas. You can add a SeeClickFix widget straight to your own site as a list as I have done on my sidebar or as Map page and people can report faults on if from there and this info can be outputed in various formats Csv,xls,GeoRss,KML,/XML,JSON etc.

The problems of further cuts in electricity in late December and early January affected many areas in Portmarnock, Malahide and Kinsealy. The ESB has provided their response to the cuts and the actions that they are undertaking to address the problems.

Local Portmarnock Labour Councillor Peter Coyle has strongly criticised the granting of Planning Permission for an Aldi store on the scenic coastal location of the White Sands Hotel, Portmarnock. He states that he is disappointed that the County Manager did not become directly involved in such a silly and stupid decision, which is clearly contrary to the Fingal County Development Plan. Cllr Peter Coyle (Cathaoirleach in 2005 during the adoption of the current Development Plan) had appealed to the Manager on a number of occasions to become directly involved in the case, given that he was Director of Planning during the adoption of the Development Plan. His non-involvement shows that the name ‘Manager’ in the “Managers Report” of planning files is meaningless.
