Minister outlines case for ban on levies spending

THE Minister for the Environment has laid out his case for the ban on spending € 70 million in development funds already collected and banked by Fingal County Council. Under questioning from Fine Gael deputies, James Reilly TD and Leo Varadkar TD, Minister John Gormley said the financial requirements for local authorities had been set out in circular from his department in February of 2009.
