Over the last 3 weeks we’ve had 8 meetings to discuss the draft development plan and over 30 hours of discussion. And we still aren’t finished!I have consistently opposed further residential re-zonings and given the current over supply and the number of unfinished housing estates I have been appalled and shocked at the support for these proposed re-zonings from several but by no means all Fianna Fail, Fine Gael and Indepedent councillors. Sea scouts face eviction

GROUP of Northside sea scouts are fearing for their future following the shock news that the Government is considering evicting them from their home of over 20 years. Howth Sea Scouts have been based in their den on the West Pier since 1987 when they first transformed a vacant site through their own hard work and determination. Now the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food say the group’s lease has expired and they will have to find alternative accommodation so their building can be rented out as a commercial space. Food fest aims to put the bite back in Howth’s nightlife

An initiative aimed at Irish foodies is taking place in Howth this month in an effort to revive the nightlife of the seaside town. The resort still bustles during the day according to councillors, but some admit its nightlife is not what it once was. Howth's Mystery Dine takes place next Friday, July 24, at 7.30pm in an effort to highlight what the town has to offer in the evenings.
