Flood risk to coast studied

A MAJOR study of flood risk on the Fingal Coast will bring relief to areas of old Portmarnock and Kinsealy Lane that experienced flooding last summer but the council is also carrying out work to relieve the problem in the meantime. To address this issue the council has appointed consultants to carry out a catchment-based flood risk assessment and management study of the area. A SERIES of prolonged power outages have left residents in the Malahide and Kinsealy areas without power on at least three occasions in the past five weeks. The areas affected included Seabury Park, Holywell, Drynam, Melrose, Millview, parts of the Swords Road and Yellow Walls Road. According to the ESB, there were three major power outages on March 19 and 24 and again on April 14.
